The Virginia Nurses Association (VNA) invites nurses and healthcare advocates across the Commonwealth to participate in our June Nurses Month of Action, a month-long initiative designed to empower nurses to engage in advocacy and connect with
policymakers. Throughout June, VNA will host in-person legislator meetings across the state, open to both members and nonmembers, along with educational resources and opportunities to take meaningful advocacy actions.
Each week
will focus on a different aspect of civic engagement, from voter registration and learning how legislation works, to sharing your personal nursing story, connecting with your state legislators, and advocating for policies that advance the
nursing profession. The month will culminate with national-level advocacy opportunities leading up to the American Nurses Association’s Hill Day on June 25. Whether you are new to advocacy or experienced in policy work, VNA’s Nurses Month
of Action provides practical ways to make your voice heard and help shape the future of healthcare.
Ready to join the movement for a healthier Virginia & a well-equipped nursing workforce?
Kick off the month with advocacy basics. Learn how to register to vote or update your voting address, discover who represents you in government, and hear guidance on how a bill becomes law and how to have effective conversations

Advocacy starts with your voice. Participants will identify the issues that matter most to them and learn how to share their personal nursing stories with policymakers. Nurses will be encouraged to reach out to their legislators
