Dr. Jennifer Shepherd is a Registered Nurse leader with a robust history of propelling innovation and advancement in healthcare, bolstered by extensive nursing leadership and education expertise. Jennifer has served as a direct care provider and a member of clinical leadership in roles dedicated to quality and safe care delivery to patients and families. Her expertise lies in new product development, healthcare thought leadership, and fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders. She recently became the Director, Nursing Practice, Work Environment, and Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation after serving as the Director of Nursing Education & Product Management and Innovation Strategist for the American Nurses Association since 2021.
She is the current Vice President of the Virginia Nurses Association (VNA) and previously served as Commissioner of Workforce Issues on the VNA Board. Jennifer is adjunct faculty for Marymount University and serves on the Capella University School of Nursing and Health Sciences Advisory Board. She is an active clinical team member of the Medical Reserve Corps for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Program Description: Discover how artificial intelligence is transforming the nursing profession. Attendees will gain confidence using tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity in clinical, educational, and professional settings. The session will also equip nurses with critical evaluation skills to assess AI-generated content for accuracy, bias, and reliability, empowering them to responsibly integrate AI into patient care, teaching, and lifelong learning. Learning Outcomes: By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to: - Describe key types and functions of AI, including how it works, with emphasis on nursing and healthcare uses.
