2024 Election Information

The following leadership positions are open for the 2024 Election (2-year terms):

• President 
• Secretary
• Commissioner on Nursing Education 
• Commissioner on Workforce Issues
• Commissioner on Nursing Practice * 
• Director-at-Large, Frontline Nurse 
• Director-at-Large APRN  - (1 year term)
• Committee on Nominations - 3 open seats 

* The Commissioner on Nursing Practice is also an ex-officio member of the Virginia Nurses Foundation Board of Trustees.

Review the Position Descriptions and Nominations Policies and Procedures Manual. Voting will be open June 28 - August 23. The ballot will be sent out by email. Please email Linda McKay at lmckay@virginianurses.com to request a paper ballot.  

2024 Election Timeline

• Call for Nominations - April 1 - May 29
  
• Nominating Committee prepares slate of candidates - June 5
• Committee on Nominations presents slate of candidates to the Board of Directors - June 17
• Slate of Candidates published  - June 20
• Online voting begins (online and paper) - June 28
• Deadline for paper ballot requests - August 12
• Voting ends - 11:45 pm on August 23
• Election results shared at VNA Membership Assembly - November 22

The positions of Chapter Government Relations Chair and Student Outreach Chair are on the ballot for the 2024 Chapter Elections in all Virginia Nurses Association chapters for a two-year term to begin January 1, 2025.
