VNA to Launch Month-Long Advocacy Initiative this June: VNA's Nurses Month of ActionApril 2026 VNA invites nurses, students and healthcare advocates across the Commonwealth to participate in our June Nurses Month of Action, a month-long initiative to empower nurses to engage in advocacy and connect with policymakers. Throughout June, VNA will host in-person legislator meetings across the state, open to members and nonmembers, along with educational resources and opportunities to take meaningful advocacy actions. Statement from the Virginia Nurses Association on the Exclusion of Nursing from Professional Degree Classification Under Proposed Federal Loan RuleThe Virginia Nurses Association stands with the American Nurses Association and nursing organizations nationwide in opposition to the federal student loan policy recommendations being considered by the Department of Education, which will exclude graduate-level nursing programs from the definition of “professional degree” and will severely restrict the federal loan support available to nurses pursuing advanced education.
