Medical errors cannot be fully eliminated from our healthcare system, yet many errors can be recovered thus preventing patient harm. During this webinar we will reimagine nurses' work to more fully use our education and expertise to identify, interrupt, and correct medical errors; thereby, preventing patient harm. Participants will examine the three phases of the error recovery process, explore characteristics that influence error recovery and apply innovative strategies to assist nurses in recovering errors. Given the importance of patient safety within healthcare systems, it is essential that nurses focus not only on error prevention but error recovery to keep patients safe.
