VNA's Central Virginia chapter will be hosting a dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on November 15. This event is cosponsored by Portola Pharmaceuticals.

Bruce Friedman, MD, CNSP, FCCP, FCCM, co-director of JM Still Burn Center at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA and professor of medicine at Augusta University will be presenting on venous thromboembolism. His presentation will examine the need for increased awareness of the persistent threat of VTE in nonsurgical and acutely ill patients, as well as the unmet need for extended duration VTE prophylaxis. Dr. Friedman will present real world evidence demonstrating that VTE risk starts from hospital admission and extends through the post-discharge period.

The event will take place at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, located at 9200 Stony Point Parkway in Richmond.

There is no registration fee. RSVP by November 13.
