Announcement! Meet your Candidates on September 16th from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at the Augusta Health Community Building Conference. For more information, please contact Arlene Wiens at garrisonpr@aol.com or Lucia Fernandez at healrn@comcast.net

District 9 is located in the middle part of the Shenandoah Valley bordered on the west by the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia and on the east by the Blue Ridge Mountains. The boundaries of the district to the north are Rockingham County and to the south the District ends in the counties of the Interstate 64 corridor west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The goal of the district is to promote professional nursing and improve quality of health care for clients. Annual activities towards meeting those goals are a workshop for nurses in the region in May and a Legislative Dinner in September. The legislative dinner promotes dialogue between nurses and their representatives in the Virginia Legislature. It is a unique opportunity for the voice of nursing to be heard where it can make a difference for the health care of the commonwealth.

In addition this year VNA is serving as a sponsor to the Scholarship Day in April of Pi Mu Chapter at Large of Sigma Theta Tau International of James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University. A VNA membership will be given to a student who plans to stay in the valley.

All nurses and nursing students are welcome to attend board meetings
to learn about the district and VNA/ANA.
