2017 Election Information

The following board positions are open for the 2017 Election:

  • President-elect - 1 yr term; individual subsequently assumes the role of president
  • Vice President* - 2 yr term
  • Treasurer* - 2 yr term
  • Commissioner on Government Relations - 2 yr term
  • Commissioner on Resources and Policy* - 2 yr term
  • Commissioner on Workforce Issues - 1 yr term to complete term on open seat
  • Director-at-Large: Recent Graduate  - 2 yr term; must be a nurse who graduated within the three years prior to election

*Serves ex officio role on Virginia Nurses Foundation Board of Trustees for the length of this VNA board seat/term.

2017 Election Timeline

  • Call for Nominations - April
  • Nominations conference call - May 8
  • Nomination submission - April 27 - May 30
  • Nominating Committee prepares slate of candidates - June 5
  • VNA Board of Directors votes to approve slate of candidates - June 7
  • All individuals who submitted a nomination form are notified by email of whether they will/will not be included on the ballot - June 12
  • Slate of Candidates published and distributed - June 13
  • Online voting begins (online and paper) - June 19
  • Deadline for ballot requests - August 9
  • Voting ends - 11:45 pm on September 6
  • Election results shared at VNA Membership Assembly - September 15
